On Wednesday 3rd June, 37 young adults with learning disabilities, and additional needs came together for a brilliant afternoon of inclusive football delivered by Inclusive United CIC in partnership with Watford FC Community Sports & Education Trust and hosted at the Watford FC Dome, part of the Watford FC Training Ground.

The session was built around a relaxed, friendly and fully inclusive environment where everyone could take part at their own pace. A carousel of fun activities kept energy high and engagement constant, with participants moving between skill stations, small challenges, and team-based games designed for all abilities.

There were penalty shoot-outs that brought plenty of cheers and celebration, along with mini matches where everyone had the chance to get involved—whether playing, supporting, or trying something new. For this event, the focus was on enjoyment, confidence-building, and connection rather than competition.

As well as enjoying the experience of being at the Watford FC Training Ground and staying dry in the Dome during the rainy weather, participants also had a fantastic opportunity to visit the Watford FC Media Suite. Here, some stepped into the role of manager, taking part in interviews, answering questions, and experiencing what it’s like to be in the spotlight.

The day also included a special meet-and-greet with Harry Hornet, where everyone had the chance to take photos, and enjoy a memorable moment, including the coaches!
Most importantly, the day created space for people to connect, be active, relax, and enjoy being part of a supportive community. It was a fantastic experience from start to finish, made possible by everyone involved who helped bring it to life in such an incredible community setting.

Thank you to Watford FC and to Watford FC CSE Trust for the opportunity.
