Watford FC CSE Trust degree students recently took part in a theory and practical course delivered by Inclusive United CIC, gaining practical skills and confidence in inclusive coaching.

Degree students studying for their BSc (Hons) Football Coaching and Performance degree were keen to develop their inclusive coaching skills. The course combined interactive learning with practical experience, giving students the tools to create welcoming, supportive, and engaging sports sessions for participants of all abilities.

Students explored key principles of inclusion, including adapting sessions for participants with disabilities, neurodivergent individuals, and those with diverse learning needs. By the end of the course, students had gained practical skills, increased confidence, and a deeper understanding of how to make sport accessible and enjoyable for everyone.
The Inclusive Coaching Course was delivered by the Directors and Co-Founders of Inclusive United CIC – Hannah Coote, Tracy Light, and Martina Hardy. Together, they bring over 60 years of combined football experience, spanning many aspects of inclusive football provision, including lived experience, SEN provision, inclusive leagues, female and girls’ football, and specialist formats.

This course was part of Watford FC CSE Trust’s ongoing commitment to developing future coaches who lead with empathy, adaptability, and inclusive practice.
